The Mission

Joyfully developing true followers of Jesus Christ who become reproducing leaders springing up from the Hidalgo community.

The Vision

Imagine a community where adults are welcoming, evangelizing, and discipling their neighbors; teens are mentoring and leading younger children; and families are growing spiritually together.

We desire to grow a ministry which is reaching and discipling entire families. As most people form their lifetime moral foundation by age nine 1 and their worldview by age thirteen 2 our core ministry has been to children in Kinder-6th grade. We additionally seek to influence our teens and adults as well through relationship-building, small groups, mentoring, and other life-impact ministries.

2 “…a person’s worldview is primarily shaped and is firmly in place by the time someone reaches the age of 13; it is refined through experience during the teen and early adult years; and then it is passed on to others during their adult life. Such studies underscore the necessity of parents and other influencers being intentional in how they help develop the worldview of children.” https://www.barna.com/research/barna-survey-examines-changes-in-worldview-among-christians-over-the-past-13-years/)

“’In essence,’ the researcher noted, ‘what you believe by the time you are 13 is what you will die believing. Of course, there are many individuals who go through life-changing experiences in which their beliefs are altered, or instances in which a concentrated body of religious teaching changes one or more core beliefs. However, most people’s minds are made up and they believe they know what they need to know spiritually by age 13.’” (https://www.barna.com/research/research-shows-that-spiritual-maturity-process-should-start-at-a-young-age/)
